Common armchair
is conceived as a simple metal-construction which formally refers to a typology
of dining chairs. A single piece of rattan pole that mounted upon the curved
aluminium frame became the key characteristic of the chair. Even though it is
only a small part of the chair, the rattan pole plays a significant role as the
bridge which strengthens the structure as well as provides back support and
warmth. Common armchair has been awaded the
2013 Singapore Furniture Design Award Honourable Mention by Singapore Furniture
Industries Council (SFIC).
