The project started in 2013, where the design studio I worked for was approached by a local furniture importer to redesign a seat shell of public seats that later assembled with the existing metal legs. As the project assistant, I was responsible for multiple task, including collecting data, 3D CAD modeling and drawing, developing product, making some early prototype and communicating with suppliers and engineers.

Based on data we collected, it was obvious that lightness became the message we would like to conveyed in this design since many public seating has cold and stiff appearance which seems distanced to travellers in waiting zones.

The seat shell was developed into several seat and backrest combination
including bench seatings. Part of the development process was to assure user are comfortable to sit for a period of time and allowing to make further adjustment.
